Welcome to today’s game against Shaftesbury who are having a tough time in the league at present. Last week was a good one for the 1st team despite the fact that they didn’t have a game as 2nd placed Whitchurch United lost both their games so the team remain top of the league. That said we must take every game as it comes and ensure that we win the games we have in hand and take nothing for granted. That attitude must continue today and for every game if we are to remain at the top.
The reserves are also showing good form and continued that with a 4-2 home win last week against Romsey Town. The down side to that game was that Rob Sleep had to come off with an injured ankle which after a trip to hospital turned out to be broken. Everyone at the club wishes him well and a speedy recovery. The reserves travel to Whitchurch today which will not be an easy game so we will be hoping they can get a result there.
There are no easy games in this league and I know that Shaftesbury will be looking to improve their form and I have no doubt they will, let’s hope that it doesn’t start today!
Enjoy the game and please cheer the team on. Thanks for your support
Colin Stewart
